Collecting

I had been waiting for us to buy a house before I would let myself decorate. Which made my house fever worse and while I still have a huge desire to set down some roots and have total control over a space, I gave up on waiting.

I am so excited for our new rug to come, it was an insane steal off of etsy for only $65!!

It will go swell with our new bedding that I bought recently:

And our new wall arts:

Hopefully I can arrange a decent looking picture to show you when it all comes together (if we ever figure out how to hang this massive nautical chart in a wall made out of mystery material from 1900)

Spring Tease

I went from this:

(Zoom in to see the jellyfish that were washed into the intercoastal by a crazy spring tide)

To this:

It's like reverse vacation. Thankfully Spring has arrived in Florida.

More inspiration...it's only fair

Yesterday while I was typing about how I don't follow many photographers or know them by name, I realized that was not a true statement. There are several people who's work I know and I figure it is only fair to share as well.

When Brian and I were camping in the Homestead Everglades three years ago a park ranger riding his bike around the grounds came by to inform us that Clyde Butcher, a Florida photographer would be giving a talk that evening in the community center.

I am so in love with Clyde Butcher and the fact that he uses large format cameras, looks like Santa Claus and is a true Floridian only perpetuates that admiration.

One day I will splurge on a gigantic Butcher print, if I can ever make a decision.

Check Clyde out here:

INspiration

I like to take photos as a hobby but never really have any specific photographers who's name and work I know and look out for. The majority of people who inspire me are my friends and real life people, but I am newly in love with Mike Piscitelli's photography and would love to get into portraiture that has even an inkling of his style in it.

Check it out here

Learning

My editing skills are kinda garbage, but they are slowly getting slightly more in-depth.
